A meeting of Lawngtlai District Environment Management Committee was held today at the DC's Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS.

The committee comprises officers of the concerned state and LADC departments, representatives of NGOs and village councils. The meeting discussed Lawngtlai District Environment Plan 2020-2021 and how to implement successfully.

LADC Sanitation Department has identified two portions of land for dumping ground of Lawngtlai town for which land lease was already issued by LADC Revenue Department. The District Environment Management Committee resolved that the ground may be prepared right away as it should be and the LADC may notify by-laws for solid waste and plastic waste management. It assigned LADC Sanitation Department to prepare a schedule of garbage picking up and sweeper detailment and circulate it through WhatsApp.
