Aizawl, the 14th of January, 2025: Minister of State, Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department (LESDE) Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar inaugurated the Toyota-Technical Education Program (T-TEP) at Government ITI, Aizawl today.

The T-TEP initiative is a collaboration between Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt. Ltd., dealers/suppliers and Industrial Training Institutes. The program offers a one-year General Technician (Mechanic) course. Upon successful completion of the course and passing the final examination, participants will receive a Toyota certification. In its first year, the program will provide training to 24 students in Govt. ITI, Aizawl.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt. Ltd. has supplied all necessary tools and equipment for the course. Mizoram is now the 27th location in India to implement the T-TEP initiative.

Speaking at the event, Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar remarked, "This event marks a significant milestone in our pursuit to empower our youth through skill development and technical education. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. for bringing the ‘Toyota-Technical Education Program’ initiative to Mizoram. I am confident that the students will not only gain technical skills, but also develop the confidence and expertise required to take up future employment opportunities in leading industries."

However, the automotive industry is growing at an unprecedented rate, offering numerous opportunities for skilled professionals such as vehicle mechanics and technicians. This programme aligns perfectly with the state’s development goals and addresses the demand for technically proficient professionals."

The Minister took a tour of the newly established T-TEP facilities on campus. He encouraged the students to commit fully to the program and see it through to completion. He emphasized that the current government is committed to promoting skill development and mentioned plans to expand and upgrade the existing infrastructure at Government ITI, Aizawl.

Additionally, Pu Lalnghinglova extended his gratitude to the Government Industrial Training Institute, Aizawl, for their dedication to the successful initiation of this program.
