Pi Ramdinliani, District Magistrate, Lunglei District issued an order on 20th March,2023 pertaining to prohibition of export of fertilisers as follows:

Whereas the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture has been issuing Orders from time to time for ensuring fair and equitable distribution of fertilisers across the States of India;

And whereas the Fertiliser (Movement Control) Order, 1973 prohibits export, including attempt to export or abetting the export, of any fertiliser from any state;

And whereas it has come to the attention of the undersigned that the aforementioned prohibited activity is carried out in different parts of Mizoram;

And whereas in view of the aforesaid reasons, I am of the opinion that there are sufficient grounds for issuing an order to prevent such unlawful activities;

Now, therefore, in the exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 144 of CrPC 1973, I, Ramdinliani, District Magistrate, Lunglei do hereby prohibit any movement of urea within Lunglei District for the purpose of contravening any provision of the aforementioned Fertiliser Order, 1973.

This Order shall take immediate effect and shall remain in force for a period of 2(two) months unless revoked earlier. Violation of this Order during its validity shall be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
