Lawngtlai, 4th September 2026: A meeting to discuss the publication of the SIR 2026 Final Electoral Roll was held today in the Office Chamber of the District Election Officer, Lawngtlai, under the chairmanship of Shri  Donny Lalruatsanga, District Election Officer, Lawngtlai.

Addressing the meeting, Shri  Donny Lalruatsanga extended greetings to all those present and stated that SIR 2026 has been conducted smoothly and all preparations for the publication of the Final Electoral Roll have been completed. He appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Election Officers and their supporting teams, including EROs, AEROs and BLOs, towards ensuring a clean, accurate and credible Electoral Roll.

He also expressed his gratitude to the CYLA, MJA, village leaders and political parties for their valuable cooperation and support throughout the revision process. He said that despite the numerous challenges faced in Lawngtlai District, the strong cooperation among all stakeholders has made it possible to proceed towards the publication of the Final Electoral Roll, which is a matter of great satisfaction.

The DEO further stated that even after the publication of the Final Electoral Roll, there would still be several matters requiring attention and completion. He therefore called upon all stakeholders to continue extending their wholehearted cooperation and support.

Shri Collin Hlychho, Election Officer, gave an overview of the implementation of SIR 2026 and the various activities undertaken in the three Assembly Constituencies of Lawngtlai District, namely 36-Tuichawng (ST) AC, 37-Lawngtlai West (ST) AC and 38-Lawngtlai East (ST) AC.

Reports from the EROs and AEROs regarding the disposal of cases requiring correction and the conduct of hearings were also reviewed during the meeting, followed by discussions and a question-and-answer session.

As per the schedule, the SIR 2026 Final Electoral Roll will be published on 7th September 2026 at 10:30 AM at the DC Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.

The meeting was attended by EROs, AEROs, representatives of political parties, NGOs and MJA, Lawngtlai. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Donny Lalruatsanga.
