A meeting of Nodal Officers and Sector Officers for general election to the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC)'s 88 village councils (VCs) and by-election to the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC)'s Council Veng VC scheduled to be held on 13th March was held today at DC Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.

The meeting was chaired by District Election Officer Pi Shashanka Ala, IAS who stressed on the importance of nodal officers and sector officers for a peaceful and fair election. Asst District Election Officer Pu K. Laltlawmlova and Election Officer Pu Lalremruata Sailo also highlighted some important points.

The CADC having 88 VCs is divided into 18 sectors while Council Veng of LADC, where by-election to one vacant seat is to be conducted, is made another sector. Two of the 88 polling stations in CADC, namely, Kamalanagar-III and Kamalanagar-V are declared sensitive polling stations.

Polling will start at 7 AM on March 13 and close at 4 PM in the evening. Counting will commence once the polling is over.

Today's meeting was followed by sector officers' training.
