Champhai, the 2nd August, 2021: A meeting to discuss the celebration of Independence Day 2021 in Champhai was held today at DC's Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Addl. DC Champhai, Pu Henry C.Lalrawnkima which was attended by the Heads of Offices.

Taking into account the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Celebration Committee decided to proceed and organize a celebration programme avoiding public gathering, strictly adhering to the state guidelines and the Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviours. Hoisting of the national flag in government and private buildings will commences the day with the celebration program begins at 8 a.m sharp at DC's Bungalow, Keifangtlang. Work allocations for concerned departments were also discussed to ensure successful conduct of the celebrations and the final rehearsal for the programme is scheduled at 2 p.m, August 14, 2021.

The meeting decided to cancel Students Parade Contingents and Pipe Bands, instead the Mizoram Police Contingent is assigned to perform the Ceremonial parade to avoid large gathering. Only the Heads of Offices and special invitees will attend the celebration programme and for the public, it was decided to live telecast the entire celebration programme through local Cable Televisions.
