My dear people of Mizoram,

CHIBAI

It is with immense pleasure that I convey greetings to all of you on this joyous occasion of Christmas and the upcoming New Year. It is heartwarming to witness Mizoram celebrating Christmas in unison once again.

Mizoram is known for its vibrant Christmas celebrations, with its own unique blend of religious devotion and traditional fervor. The tradition of community bonding during Christmas is noteworthy, and Christmas songs sung in the local languages add a cultural touch to the festivities. The practice of exchanging gifts and greetings reflect the Christmas spirit of generosity, and it is beautiful to see communities reaching out to the less fortunate.

Recently, Aizawl city has been declared to have the cleanest air among India’s cities. This can be attributed to our collective efforts towards a sustainable lifestyle and the proactive measures by the government. These factors have made us a role model for other cities striving to achieve similar environmental standards. To maintain this, I urge everyone, during this festive season, to make efforts for peaceful and pollution-free celebrations.

Our record from previous years of maintaining law and order during this festive time is a source of pride, and we should strive to repeat the same this year.

I believe that there are many who will be spending this holiday season away from their loved ones. I express my admiration for those in the service of others, whether as part of the armed forces, healthcare workers, or any profession that calls for sacrifice. They embody the true spirit of Christmas by putting others before oneself.

As India under our Hon’ble Prime Minister is striving to become a Viksit Bharat by 2047, Mizoram plays a unique and significant role in this aspiration. Our State’s integration into India's developmental framework is essential for realizing this vision of a developed country. I encourage everyone to take active participation in national policies and programmes, to ensure that our country’s potential is harnessed effectively for the collective progress of the nation.

May the coming year bring peace, progress, and prosperity to all the people of Mizoram.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

KA LAWM E

Jai Hind.
