Officers under Rural Development Department held a detailed mid-term review meeting today with Pu Lalruatkima, Minister, Rural Development Department at Aijal Club Conference Hall, Aizawl.

Pu Lalruatkima who chaired the meeting commended the contributions of all the officers and staff working under the Department of Rural Development to improve the livelihood of the poor and disadvantaged sections of the population in rural areas. He said that review meeting provides opportunities to discuss performances and developments, throw light on future targets and objectives, assess past performances and identify areas where improvements can be made. The Minister asked the officials to meticulously monitor development works undertaken by the Department to ensure effective implementation, delivery and efficient use of public money intended to uplift the rural poor. 

The meeting reviewed performances of Districts and RD Blocks in the implementation of schemes such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY), Border Area Development Programme (BADP) and Mizoram State Rural Livelihood Programme (MzSRLM. The Director of Social Audit presented achievements under Social Audit Unit while the Deputy Secretary, Rural Development Department highlighted key aspects of Mission Antyodaya.
