Aizawl, the 24th November 2022: ‘National Seminar on the Kaladan Multi-modal Transit Transport Project (KMMTTP) : Prospects and Problems’ was held today at the Seminar Hall, School of Social Science, Mizoram University with Minister Dr.R Lalthangliana as the chief guest.

Addressing the seminar, Commerce and Industry Minister Dr.R Lalthangliana pointed out that KMMTTP which is a part of important Act East Policy will provide an alternative access route not only to Mizoram but the whole of North East India. Highlighting the nearly completed project, the Minister called on the people of Mizoram to have an export-oriented mind as the state cannot afford to be a mere importer but an exporting state as well.

The Minister further pointed out that the KMMTTP has a far reaching potential for the economic upliftment and development, employment and job opportunities and can drastically change the social well being of the people of Mizoram . Emphasizing on the benefits of the project, the Minister requested all the contractors involved in the project to complete their work at the earliest.

The Seminar was organized by Department of Political Science, Mizoram University and was chaired by Prof.Lalneihzovi, Dean School of Social Science.
