Aizawl, 29th September, 2021 : Hon`ble MP (Rajya Sabha) Mizoram, Pu K.Vanlalvena along with Pu Rosangzuala, OSD to Chief Minister, Mizoram and Pu Amjak Tak, IAS, Resident Commissioner, Mizoram House, New Delhi met Dr. Renu Swarup, Secretary, Deptt. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India today, the 29th September, 2021 at her office chamber to discuss the timeline for providing infectious disease diagnostic laboratory (I-Lab) for Mizoram.

Dr. Renu Swarup assured that in spite of budget constraint in the department, they are committed to provide 1(one) I-Lab to Mizoram on the request of Hon`ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga to Dr. Jitender Singh, Union Minister of State for Science & Technology. The I-Lab is in production stage at Vishakapatnam and will be delivered positively within 4(four) weeks from today, she explained. She further mentioned that officials from Deptt. of Biotechnology Dr. Manoj Kumar Modi and Ms. Annamika Gambhir will be entrusted with this specific task and the official will liase with IBSD Imphal to ensure timely delivery of the vehicle.

Pu K Vanlalvena and Pu Rosangzuala thanked the Secretary for their prompt and positive response to the need of Mizoram. They also coveyed appreciation on behalf of Hon`ble Chief Minister of Mizoram to the Hon`ble Union MoS, Dr. Jitendra Singh for his prompt action to tackle the present situation of Covid-19 in Mizoram.
