Aizawl, the 4th April, 2025: Dr. Vanlalthlana, Mizoram's Minister of Education, held discussions with Dr. VK Paul, Member of NITI Aayog, today in New Delhi, focusing on strategies to enhance the state's education system and promote technological advancement.
A significant point of discussion was a proposed Education Conclave for Mizoram. Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana emphasized the need for this initiative to analyze the state's education framework and identify areas for improvement, particularly in translating its high literacy rate into better performance in national examinations and enhanced employability. NITI Aayog expressed positive interest and pledged support through the State Support Mission (SSM).
The Minister also presented a report on his innovative 'Project Intodelh' (Self-Sufficiency), a pilot program designed to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset among secondary and higher secondary students through financial literacy and life skills training. NITI Aayog recognized this initiative as a Best Practice. Additionally, the State Report Card for the Random Examination 2024-25, covering Classes III and VI, was submitted and also acknowledged as a Best Practice document.
Healthcare in Schools was another key area of discussion. Dr. VK Paul highlighted the necessity of a collaborative effort between Mizoram's Department of School Education and the Department of Health & Family Welfare to effectively implement this project.
Finally, Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana raised specific issues faced by the Mizoram government in the setting up of the Software Technology Park of India (STPI) at the Mizoram University (MZU) campus. NITI Aayog assured that it would take steps to address these challenges.
