In his maiden official trip to the district on yesterday, His Excellency, Dr. Aziz Qureshi, the Governor Of Mizoram visits the site of Serlui B Hydel Project near Bilkhawthlir town in Kolasib and its adjoining facilities that is yet to be be commissioned . Later in the evening, the Governor also interacts with top officials, NGO leaders and media persons from Kolasib District at Circuit House Conference Hall.

During his appointment with top officials and NGO leaders, the Governor expresses his satisfaction of having opportunities to take a leading part in the state and its people attempt to achieve the goal of progress and prosperity. Contrary to certain people who doubt his satisfaction of being transferred to Mizoram, the Governor was quite in a jovial mood and went on to express his determination to work for welfare and upliftment of the common man of Mizoram. And he also gave his assurance that the door to his office will always be open to the people who need help and that his secretaries and staff will be more than willing to offer assistance to anyone not withstand the social or official stratum. On his request the officials highlight the district profile of Kolasib with a special focus on Administration, PHE, Health, Education and main vocations of people within the said district. On realizing the backwardness in certain basic sectors and under-staffing critically important public institutions such as hospital, the Governor was far from impressed but appreciates the efforts they have made so far with their limited capacity. He promises to look into the matter in solving problems on key areas and offers assistance from his office in the future. The Governor not only demands to see details of the forthcoming vital infrastructure projects or vital development proposals on his table but also informed the officials that all the projects they prepare should always include the common man and the weaker sections of society.
