Mizoram Governor, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati flagged off 17 IEC mobile vans to be used as part of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) this evening in a programme held at MINECO Open Gym, Aizawl. The flagging off portion of the programme was preceded by launching of the VBSY scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for five states - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telengana and Mizoram, via video conference.

The flagging off programme at Aizawl was chaired by Dr. Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation Dept. and State Nodal Officer for Visksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and was attended by stakeholder departments and selected beneficiaries. This scheme aims for 100% saturation of welfare scheme through outreach efforts.

Among the 17 IEC vans, 3 are designated to be used in Aizawl district, 2 in Lunglei district while remaining nine districts will be facilitated with 1 mobile van each. Apart from these, a spare van and a recovery van are kept on standby. District level committee for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra were set up and schedules have been confirmed. Outreach activities will end on 26th January, 2024.
