Aizawl, the 2nd June 2020: Leading by example, Governor P.S. Sreedharan had Committed 30% of his gross salary i.e. Rs 1,05,000 for a period of 6 months starting from May 2020 to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for fight against COVID19 Pandemic. This will be reviewed after 6 months depending on the situation.

In addition to this, Governor had also initiated and adopted the following measures to cut the expenditure of Raj Bhavan during the financial year 2020-2021.

1. No new capital works will be taken up in Raj Bhavan during 2020-2021.

2. Repair and maintenance works at Raj Bhavan will be minimized to only ensure proper upkeep of existing assets.

3. Expenditure on office consumable will be cut down. No new purchase of office furniture, computers and other electronic items will be made unless absolutely essential. There will be no bulk purchase of office stationery items. The use of e-technology will be promoted to cut down the use of paper to avoid wastage and to make the office eco-friendly. A comprehensive instruction on economy in office consumable is being issued separately.

4. All officers and staff should take special care to minimize the usage of water and electricity.

5. No new vehicle will be purchased for Raj Bhavan.

6. The Hon'ble Governor will reduce his domestic tours and programmes substantially during 2020-2021 in order to follow social distancing restrictions and minimize the expenditure such commitments entail.

7. Consumption during ceremonial occasions such as At-Home ceremonies and official banquet/dinner will be minimized by taking the following measures:-

(i) Keeping smaller guests lists to maintain social distance;

(ii) Lesser usage of flowers and other items for decoration;
