Pu C.Lalsawta, Chairperson, Mizoram Lokayukta on this afternoon had presented his office’s Annual Report 2019 – 20 to Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai at the Raj Bhavan.

On receiving the Mizoram Lokayukta’s Annual Report 2019 – 20, the Governor expressed his high expectation from Mizoram Lokayukta for ensuring the citizens’ aspiration for corruption-free governance. He went further to point out that better awareness of the roles and functions of Lokayukta is still needed. During this interaction, Pu C.Lalsawta, Chairperson, Mizoram Lokayukta had also briefed the Governor on the highlights of the 83 pages Annual Report.

Pu C.Lalsawta, IAS(rtd) was appointed as Chairman, Lokayukta on 11th March,2019. At present, Mizoram Lokayukta had received 24 complaint cases and closed 4 cases. The hearing had been held twice with 8 hearings were scheduled recently with a fixed date. Mizoram Lokayukta Office with the office staff strength of 27  is currently located at F.Kapsanga Building, Tuikual South, Temple Square, Aizawl. The Inquiry Wing and Prosecution Wing to be headed by separate Director is to be established shortly.
