Aizawl the 10th September, 2026: 

SEIZURE OF ILLEGAL ITEMS

1. On 09.09.2026, Champhai PS team while conducting random checking at Chalbawia Junction, Khankawn Police Checkgate recovered and seized 994 grams of suspected Methamphetamine worth Rs.7,952, 000/- (approx) from the illegal possession of one passenger of one Maxi cab - Hrang Thawm Hnim (39), Sathmuhzung, Myanmar.
2. On 09.09.2026, Champhai PS team on duty at Chalbawia Junction, Khankawn Police Check gate recovered and seized 141 grams of suspected heroin with an approximate local market value of Rs 28,20,000, from the illegal possession of two male passengers of one vehicle proceeding from Zokhawthar towards Aizawl, Awngminnine (19) of Falam and Bawithawng (18) of Mangkheng, Falam.
3. Again on 09.09.2026, Champhai Police on duty at Chalbawia Junction Khankawn Police Checkgate recovered and seized 3360 Kgs (42 bags) of dry areca nuts from one Vehicle (Truck) B/R No. MZ-04/A-6929. No valid trade license, transportation permit, or any other documentation was available for the seized items, which are strongly suspected to have been smuggled from Myanmar.
4. On 08.09.2026, Special Team of Saitual District Police conducted random checking at Kualmawi, Keifang recovered and seized 12.746 Kgs of suspected Methamphetamine with an estimated value of approx. ₹10,19,68,000/- from the illegal possession of Chinzalian (26) of Rangoon, Myanmar (P/A Champhai Dinthar) and Thiankhatmuanga (27) of Rangoon, Myanmar (P/A Champhai Bethel).
5. On 07.09.2026, Kolasib District Police on duty at Phaisen Police Check Gate intercepted one vehicle Mahindra Scorpio (ML-04-E-3839), travelling from Aizawl towards Karimganj. Upon inspection, 3.910 Kgs of suspected Methamphetamine valued at approx. Rs.3.2 Crores were recovered and seized. In connection with the seizure, Guljar Hussain (23) of Fatepur Pt-1, Karimganj, Assam was arrested.
