Aizawl, the 23rd April 2025: Sports Minister Pu Lalnghilova Hmar hosted a Press Meet for the upcoming Aizawl International Half Marathon 2025 (AIHM2025) at the Press Conference Hall, Directorate of Sports & Youth Services, this afternoon. On this occasion, he released the official AIHM2025 T-shirts. The AIHM2025, recognised by the Athletic Federation of India, will be run on April 26, 2025.

In his press briefing, Sports Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar discussed how the International Half Marathon event in Aizawl was conceived and eventually finalised.

The Sports Minister further stated, " Promotion of fitness culture in the state, promotion of tourism for the state of Mizoram, putting Mizoram State among other destinations in the international Marathon Map, with the aims of continuing and finally organising a full Marathon, every year", were the main objectives of the event.

He also invited elite runners and sports enthusiasts across the country and abroad to come to Mizoram to participate in this event.

The AIHM2025 is being organised jointly by the Government of Mizoram and Innovations  India Advertising & Event Pvt Ltd. The event is recognised by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and they will be officiating the conduct of the race. Gen (Dr) VK Singh, Governor and Pu Lalduhoma, Chief Minister, are the Patrons of AIHM2025.

Runners may participate in their choice of category - Half Marathon (21.1 Km), Open Race (10 Km), Fun Race (5 km) and Junior Category (5 Km). A total amount of Rs 10 lakh Prize Money will be distributed among the winners.

The race track is located along the east bypass road of Aizawl city. The starting and finishing point will be the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. At  5:30 AM, the participants are instructed to gather at the starting point. Warm-up will be conducted at 6:00 AM, and the race will commence at 6:30 AM.  The registration is still open at www.aihm2025.com and will be closed on 24th April at 6:00 PM.
