Aizawl, the 12th April, 2024: The office bearers of Mizoram Truck Owner’s Association had a meeting with Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati today at the Raj Bhavan.

In this meeting, the Office bearers of  Mizoram Truck Owners’ Association met the  Governor to apprise their grievances and problems caused by irregular train intervals at Bairabi Train Station. The representatives of Mizoram Truck Owners’ Association (MTOA) with 150 members and 300 registered trucks, are responsible for transporting foodgrains under PDS of FCCI from Bairabi railhead to different depots across the state. Presently, the train’s arrival is erratic which causes inconveniences and big logistics problems. Moreover, the  Bairabi railhead does not have efficient infrastructure resulting in loss of time due to congestion causes by  large number of trucks in a small enclosure resulted inability to lift the rake at a time.

After the briefing, the Governor agreed to pursue the matter with the concerned officials in the ministry. However, the Governor also  advised the office bearers to meet the General Manager of North-East Frontier Agency (NEFA) in Guwahati and even wrote a recommendation letter for them.
