The newly established Excise & Narcotics Station, Lawngtlai was inaugurated by Pu H. Biakzaua, MLA & Vice Chairman, Agriculture Development Board, Government of Mizoram today.

Pu H. Biakzaua expressed his gratitude towards the Government of Mizoram for establishing the new Excise & Narcotics Station at Lawngtlai. The station will help safeguard the society against social evils and ensure peaceful social life free from alcohol and substance abuse, he said.

The inaugural function was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Excise & Narcotics (Enforcement) Pu Z. Lalhmangaiha. Rev. Dr LH Lalpekhlua, Associate General Secretary i/c Service, Lairam Isua Krista Baptist Kohhran (LIKBK) led a devotion, and Pu Lalhmingthanga, Assistant Commissioner of Excise & Narcotics, Lunglei gave a report on the establishment of the new station. Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC)'s Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pu T. Zakunga, Chandmary MDC Pu C. Lalsawmzuala and MNF Lawngtlai District Headquarters Treasurer Pu NC Nguntlunga each delivered a speech. Pu Peter Zohmingthanga, Assistant Commissioner of Excise & Narcotics (Headquarters) proposed a vote of thanks and the function ended with a closing prayer by Upa K. Zozamliana, BCM Bazar Veng, Lawngtlai.

The function was also attended by executive members leh MDCs of LADC, government officials, leaders of NGOs and political parties, journalists and staff of END.

The new Excise & Narcotics Station, Lawngtlai  will be headed by an inspector rank officer. There will be two sub-inspectors, two drivers and 13 other ranks staff. They leases one floor of Pu LZ Tluanga Building at Lawngtlai Chandmary Veng as a temporary establishment.
