One week long Workshop titled ‘International Workshop on Recent Advances in Academics (RAA 2019)’ was today inaugurated at Govt. Champhai College Multipurpose Hall by   Prof. KRS Sambasiva Rao, Vice Chancellor, Mizoram University in which Prof. Lalnundanga, Registrar, Mizoram University graced the programme as the Guest of Honour.

Speaking at the inaugural programe, Prof. KRS Sambasiva Rao stressed that Champhai and its vicinity being located at the periphery of international border has got immensed potency that it could attract not only  the Students across the country  but also  nearby foreign Students providing a  well known institutions equipped with better facilities is established here. The Vice Chancellor while appreciating  the  progress of the College urged the College to  brace for the upcoming NAAC assessment due on 2021 so that higher grade is achieved and more benefits arrive at the College.  Initiating with Post Graduate Courses for some departments at the very onset will invite extension of Campus and eventually the arrival of  much anticipated MZU Campus.   Prof. KRS Sambasiva Rao reiterated that Mizoram University has proved its position among elite Universities of the Country, if the recent drastic progress is carried forward at the very same pace, the University will definitely features among the top 25 Universities of the country in the very short period of time, he added.  Also the Vice Chancellor of Mizoram University mentioned with high esteemed that the University on the month of October, 2019 alone could applied for implementing 300 projects which is hardly  done in some other University.

The Chief Guest encouraged the Scholars who have attended the inaugural programme to have broader thinking and ponder upon practical works and materialize the knowledge they possessed, also to consult their lectures and even higher authority whenever they face complications. The Vice Chancellor inaugurated the International Workshop on Recent Advances in Academics 2019  with expressing his hope that the Workshop be a fruitful and beneficial for all the concerned persons.

Guest of Honour  Prof. Lalnundanga, Registrar, Mizoram University opined that higher education is more of multi-displinary and diversified in which  collaboration among various disciplines is very much needed and the research findings should not ended up in the publication alone rather it has to reach the targeted people.  And also Prof. Lalnundanga mentioned about four Incubation centres facilities available in the MZU Campus, he further added that people with innovative ideas and skilful are always welcome to train in the Incubation centres so that their talents and ideas could be magnified and transformed into a marketable  profession.   

The inaugural programme was  chaired by  Pu L.Khuma Varte, Asso. Prof, Geography Dept, Govt. Champhai College.  Pu P.Lalhmingliana, Principal Govt. Champhai College welcomed all the workshop  attendees whereas  Pu C.Chalthanga, Asso. Prof & Head English Dept, GCC gave keynote Address. Pi Thangmawii, Asso. Prof, Education Dept, GCC proposed vote of thanks and summed up the inaugural programme which was followed by the Workshop at Seminar Hall, Govt Champhai College.

The International Workshop, first of its kind here at Champhai College is funded by  RUSA 2.0 Equity Intiatives Fund  and organized by  IQAC Govt. Champhai  College. The  Workshop will be held between  October, 28 to November 1, 2019. The workshop will be witnessing the gatherings of resource persons of eminent personalities  across the Country and Myanmar wherein various topics pertaining to recent advances in academics will be deal with and  discuss at length.
