A national Deworming Day, 2020 is commenced today in a district level at New Serchhip Anganwadi Centre No. 1 by the deputy commissioner, Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte, IAS.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Lalzirmawia Chhangte bring to light various measures being taken by the government for the health of its citizens. Deworming is also one among them and worm is one of the stagnant factors of physical growth in our children. If worm sustain in our body our healthy food intake cannot provide our level of needs and then our body cannot grow at a normal rate, further create repercussion even into our mental development. In order to avoid those harmful things in our body, we have to deworm it and prevent it by cleanliness. He also ask all the target group in the district to take the deworming medicines compulsorily during the campaign.

The function is chaired by Dr. Laldawngliana Sailo, Chief Medical Officer. He give some important reports about the deworming and said that it is compulsory for the age of 1 yr to 19 years of age within the district during the campaign. The medication shall be dispense at all anganwadi and all schools upto Higher Secondary level in the district.

The programme is attended by Pu Lalbiakthanga, CDPO Serchhip, Pu Vanlalchhana, SDEO Serchhip, Dr. Lalhlunpuii DIO and Anganwadi Children and workers.
