long National Integration Tour to Delhi and Agra, organised by Assam Rifles,
for 26 students and 07 teachers from seven North Eastern states of India
concluded on 11 December 2018 at Shillong where it was flagged in by Lt Gen
Sukhdeep Sangwan, SM**, Director General Assam Rifles. The young participants
from diversified backgrounds from all seven North East states toured various
historical monuments and other important landmarks in Delhi & Agra from 01
to 11 December 2018 and interacted with several prominent personalities to
include Honourable President of India, Union MoS (Home) and Vice Chief of Army
Staff with an aim obtain insight into the rich heritage of the country.
Director General Assam Rifles, during the
flag in ceremony congratulated the students on the successful completion of the
tour and encouraged them to share the experience and knowledge gained by them
through the tour with their counterparts in respective states as ambassadors of
unity, integrity, prosperity and development. He also called upon the
participants to apply their enriched experiences in positively contributing to
the society and Nation Building.
Young participants beamed with rejuvenated
confidence and pride on being young citizens of the Nation and expressed that
the tour has greatly widened their horizons and perspectives about India as a
country as also they have developed better understanding of NE states too
through interaction with participants from other states.
