Finance Department under the Government of Mizoram sent a letter (dt. 29.2.2024) to all administrative department and heads of departments regarding Non-Refundable Withdrawal of General Provident Fund as follows.
"Non-Refundable Withdrawal of General Provident Fund(GPF) need to be sanctioned not only based on the relevant rules but also considering financial position of the State Government from time to time. Various methods had earlier been followed for sanction of NRW of GPF and the present system in place is considered the most feasible method and has been followed for more than six years. However, to relieve the heavy work load in Finance Deaprtment LoC has been issued to School Education and Police Department.
"Applications for NRW of GPF can be submitted to Finance Department which are being sanctioned on seniority as well as based on purpose, balance available in individual GPF statements and withdrawal availed earlier etc. In cases of emergency such as Medical Referal cases, Hospitalization case and payment of admission fee for higher education of children, NRW of GPF can be sanctioned without much hassle. Any demand for money for GPF withdrawal should be reported to Finance Department."
