Kolasib, 11th July 2024: Today, a training session focused on Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture Research Innovation (NARI) and Integrated Pest Management by the National Research Center (NCIPM), New Delhi, was held at KVK Kolasib for selected female farmers. Subject matter specialists provided in-depth instructions throughout the session.

Dr. Michelle C. Lallawmkimi, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK Kolasib, who supervised the training today, in her speech emphasized the unique potential of farmers to harness the resources and benefits of Kolasib District. She encouraged participants to listen attentively and to apply the knowledge gained to enhance their agricultural practices effectively. She also reminded everyone that nothing can be achieved without hard work and effort, and success in farming requires dedication and perseverance.

In today's training, instruction were provided based on selected topics  by resource persons from Kolasib who are Subject Matter Specialists in Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Protection, and Agricultural Engineering . They covered the following topics:

i) Package of Practices for Vegetable Cultivation ,

ii) Integrated Pest Management (IPM) on Kharif vegetable with special reference to Kolasib District 

iii) Natural Farming 

iv) Rain Water Harvesting Structure for Hilly areas

The training concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Pu Rualthantluanga Pachuau, Subject Matter Specialist in Fishery Science.
