National Institute of Social Defence, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment  and  DIET, Siaha  jointly held  one-day Awareness programme for School Community Members  on Prevention of Drug Abuse(under NAPDDR-National action plan for drug demand reduction)  at I&PRO Conference Hall, in the forenoon of today, here at Siaha.

Pu Sahlo Bohia, Lecturer DIET presided over the programme and Pu N.Vabeiratlua, DIPRO delivered  the programme-inaugural speech, and in his speeches Pu Vabeiratlua reminded the august gathering that it was  a high time our focus be shifted toward  demand reduction initiatives, to bolster and provide impetus to  our unending  Supply reduction drives  by Government and NGOs,  to curb the menace of drugs abuse amongst our youths.

Today's programme was organised solely for leaders of  NGOs, Youth wing of various churches, Personnels of  Block Resource Centre and Circle Resource Centre under SSA, and the  Faculty members of DIET delivered lectures on the relevant topics of the day.
