Saitual, the 4th September, 2024: The inaugural programme of the One Day International Conference on Literature, Cultural Studies, Education and Social Sciences was held at the Auditorium of Govt. Saitual College. Saitual Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Lalngura Tlau attended the event as Chief Guest.

In his speech, Saitual DC Dr. Lalngura Tlau expressed his gratitude for the hard work of the people involved in making the International Conference a success. He mentioned that if this tradition is continued, Saitual Govt. College will be able to reach great heights. He also mentioned that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) brings development to society but this development is incomplete without Humanities, and expressed the need for STEM and Humanities going hand in hand to bring about development in our society.

Saitual DC Dr. Lalngura Tlau advised the Research scholars to shift their focus from Abstract to Reality based research. He expressed hope in such reality based research to bring solutions to many problems faced in our society such as delinquency, drug abuse and unemployment.

Prof. Jamkhongam Doungel, Professor, MZU, Fullbright Senior Research Fellow, University of Cinnaniti, USA delivered a keynote address in which he discussed the differences in and the importance of different subjects under Social Science and Humanities and the role each subject plays in understanding our society.

This inaugural programme was chaired by Pi HK. Vanlalhluti, Coordinator, IQAC & Associate Professor, GSC. The welcome address was delivered by Pu Lalzarmawia, Associate Professor. Chief Guest Dr. Lalngura Tlau, Prof. Jamkhongam Doungel, Pi Debbie Lalrinawmi, Director, CHSSR and Pu PL Joseph Lalliantluanga, IQAC Assistant Coordinator, GSC delivered speeches, and a technical report was given by Pi Liansangpuii Khiangte, Convener, Organizing Committee. Vote of thanks was delivered by Pu P John Tualzamang, Vice Principal, GSC.

After the inaugural programme, Online and Offline presentations were conducted in 5 rooms. 4 special guests - 2 from Nepal, 1 from Uganda and 1 from Mizoram were invited to the International Conference. 54 scholars gave their presentations online while 21 scholars gave their presentations offline among which scholars from Thailand and USA participated.
