Ministry of Power, Environment of India has achieved a remarkable milestone in village electrification, where out of 18,452 un-electrified villages, over 13,000 villages have been electrified under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY). It has been targeted that all the 4,481 un-electrifled villages will witness the dawn of electrical connections by May 1, 2018. To promote an open and transparent workmanship, all the data regarding electrification is available on website and mobile application formats. This data can be viewed real-time and progress can be monitored from any part of the country. The latest data on village electrification is available on ‘GARV' Mobile App and web portal (link: garv.gov.in/garv2/dashboard/main), where the status of village-wise works sanctioned under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) and release of funds to the States for these projects has been mapped. This makes it easier for the common man to monitor progress of electrification works in each village in the country.
