Lunglei, September 4, 2026: A meeting on the upcoming publication of the Final Electoral Roll under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 was held today at the DC Conference Hall, Lunglei, chaired by Lunglei District Election Officer (DEO) Pi Navneet Mann.
The meeting was attended by Election Officer Pi Lalhruaitluangi, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), DIPRO/DMNO, representatives of political parties and YMA Sub-Headquarters Lunglei.
The DEO reviewed the progress of SIR 2026 in the district, stating that pre-SIR mapping based on the 2005 electoral roll had been completed by BLOs before the revision. Following house-to-house visits and distribution of Enumeration Forms (EFs), the Draft Electoral Roll was published on July 4 with 98,808 electors. Of these, 21,552 electors were called for hearings before EROs/AEROs for verification, and all hearings were completed within the stipulated period. Applications for new enrolment, deletion, shifting and correction through Forms 6, 7 and 8 were also disposed of within the prescribed timeframe.
Pi Navneet Mann appreciated the efforts of EROs, AEROs, election officials, BLOs, BLO Supervisors, BLAs, YMA, YCA, MHIP, MUP, Village/Local Councils, political parties and the media for their cooperation in ensuring a thorough and accurate revision process. She expressed confidence that the collective efforts would result in a clean and accurate electoral roll for Lunglei District.
Election Officer Pi Lalhruaitluangi also presented an overview of the district's electoral roll revision process, followed by discussions and sharing of experiences by EROs and AEROs.
The Final Electoral Roll for the six Assembly Constituencies of Lunglei District—30-Lunglei North, 31-Lunglei East, 32-Lunglei West, 33-Lunglei South, 34-Thorang and 35-West Tuipui—is scheduled to be published on September 7, 2026, at 2:30 PM.
