My dear people of Mizoram,
Today, the whole world is in the midst of an unprecedented crisis, due to the Coronavirus. While there is no need to worry, and we should take care not to panic, we must remember that there is no room for complacency in the face of a global pandemic. Against this backdrop, I make a fervent appeal to all the people of Mizoram to make the appeal of the Hon’ble Prime Minister a grand success.
Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has called for a Janta Curfew to be observed on this Sunday, the 22nd March, from 7 AM until 9 PM. During this period, I appeal to all the citizens that we neither leave our homes, nor get onto the streets or roam about our localities.
Now is the time for all the people, from all walks of life, to come together and face this universal challenge as a collective. While thanking the Church and the NGOs and all God-fearing people from all walks of life for already having taken a number of positive measures, I encourage them to keep on doing the good work. Our service for the welfare of the people of Mizoram is our service towards God.
Therefore, on this Sunday, the 22nd of March, I appeal to all the people of Mizoram to remain in our homes, and make the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s call for a Janta Curfew a grand success. And on 5 PM that day, I request all the citizens to acknowledge and salute the efforts of the selfless service providers by standing in the balconies and at the doors of our houses, and clap or ring bells for 5 minutes as a show of our appreciation. As the Hon’ble Prime Minister said, the success of this Janta Curfew will be a symbol of our effort, of our self-restraint, and our resolve as we prepare ourselves for the upcoming challenges.
In conclusion, I would like to state that both the Central and the State Governments have taken steps to ensure that all the essential commodities will continue to be available in abundant supply. I ask all the citizens to cooperate with the Central and the State Governments in our fight to break the chain against this pandemic. It is my prayer that all the people of Mizoram remain safe and healthy.
JAI HIND.
