Prizes for the Short Film and Short Awareness Video Clip Competition organized by the Information & Public Relations Department were distributed at a function presided by Pi Lallianpuii, Director, I & PR Department at the Department Auditorium.
Speaking at the function Pi Lallianpuii commented that among all the forms of mass media, films are perhaps the most effective and they influence people in very powerful ways. She thanked the government for providing funds for organizing such programmes aimed at creative minds, despite the onslaught of the pandemic and said that such programmes in these difficult times boost their morale besides providing financial incentives. She advised film makers to incorporate the traditional value system of Mizo society in their films so that the younger generations can learn and imbibe such values in their daily lives.
23 short films of durations 15-20 minutes and 24 short video clips on COVID-19 awareness of durations 3-5 minutes were submitted by filmmakers from all over the state. Besides the prizes for the three best films and clips, 3 consolation prizes in both the categories and participation prizes were also given.
During this financial year 12 film makers have also been provided assistance in the form of grants.
