Siaha 15th February 2024: Professor S.P. Singh Baghel, Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, paid a visit to Government Saiha College. He was accompanied by Shri. M. Laikaw, CEM, MADC, Dr. K. Beichhua, MLA, Shri.K. Hrahmo, MLA, Shri. K.L Vulmawia, Superintendent of Police and other officials of the district. The Union Minister of State was welcomed by Professor. Abdul Hannan Barbhuiya, Principal and Staffs of Government Siaha College.

A short interactive session were organized at Seminar Hall, Government Saiha College where the Union Minister of State delivered a speech to the students. In his speech Professor S.P. Singh Baghel highlighted the importance of hardwork and strong dedication as means of achieving success. He challenged the student to have a strong heart and commitments in their studies. He layout that the absence of Common Education was a big mistake which eventually led to great division in the field of education. He stressed the need for stronger Common Education System to overcome the division among the rich and the poor students. He further mentioned that there was great inequality amongst public and private schools in imparting educations and such contrast should be addressed immediately. For providing better, skilled and high quality education to student, every government teachers should work as hard as private school teachers.

Professor S.P Singh Baghel indicated that Democracy is the strength and unity of the country which everyone should have commended. He further challenged the students to gave their utmost contributions for India to make it a global leader.

Professor. Abdul Hannan Barbhuiya, Principal, Government Saiha College presented a short report about the college, offered courses along with its shortages and immediate challenges.

The Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare then proceeded to the District Hospital Siaha where he met with the authorities, Doctors and Nurses of the hospital. At the hospital, Professor S.P Singh Baghel toured the different wards, departments and was deeply delighted at the level of cleanliness the hospital had maintained and urged them to uphold such dedications. He also listened to the problems and challenges faced by the hospital and promised them that he would do his best for the advancement of the hospital. He further declared that the Hospital needs to be upgraded to a Medical College and that he would personally write for such recommendations once he returns to Delhi. Seeing the need and necessity of the hospital, the Minister stated that one Dialysis machine will be given to the hospital immediately.

The Union Minister of State also visited Arogya Mandir ( Health & Wellness Centre), Siahatla and met the health workers and Accridited Social Health Activist (ASHA) of the area. On his way back to Helipad, Professor S.P. Singh Baghel paid a short visit to 20th Batallion Assam Rifles, and soon left Siaha for Lengpui at around 1 in the afternoon.
