Siaha, the 27th November,2020: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Siaha District organised a programme on Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Rights Act, 2001, at DRDA Conference Hall, here at Siaha,today.

Dr H. Vanlalhmuliana, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK, Siaha District presided over the programme and Shri. Lalthanzuala, District Agriculture Officer, Siaha District graced the programme as the Chief guest.

Speaking at the occassion,Chief guest pointed out that some exotic species of rice and maize are found only in Mizoram state and it need to be conserved and protected by all means; and also be commercialized its exoticness to the optimum profits. He also reminded the farmers that hard work remains the first step towards success and urged them to moil and toil harder than ever before with all their hearts.

Smt.C. Rachael, Subject Matter Specialist, KVK, Siaha District delivered lectures on protection of plant varieties and Farmers' Right Act,2001.

All Mizoram Farmers' Union (AMFU), Siaha District President, Dr. Chawngkhuma Chawngthu and Pu K. Malsawma, Secretary also attended today's programme.
