Pu Robert Romawia Royte, Minister of State, Sports & Youth Services, Tourism, ICT hold a Press Meet at Leisekawt Playground Serchhip on the subjects of the Mizoram State Games, 2019 to be held on 9-13th December, 2019 at Aizawl and Paragliding Accuracy World Cup 2020 and Grand Festival to be held on 10-16th February, 2020 in India at Serchhip.

Minister said that, the revival of Mizoram State Games was affectionately passed by the Council of Ministers and various steps have been taken for the success of it till today. State Level Organising Committee has been formed and Rs 150 lakh that can be increased on demand is alloted for the budget, and as is a constituency level competition, all constituencies shall be given Rs. 50,000 in advance for their preparation. Their players  shall be given a TA/DA and every Sports Associations shall be entrusted to organised events at their respective discipline and all technicalities shall also be handed over to them.

There shall be 32 Games, 132 Men’s events and 88 Women’s events during the Games, if all constituecies can represent in all disciplines, as many as 15,120 players can be congregated during the Games and 403 Gold medals, 403 Silver medals and 565 Bronze Medal shall be give away to the winners.

Pu Robert Romawia Royte also express the pressmen about the coming Paragliding Accuracy World Cup and Grand Festival to be held on 10 - 16th February, 2020 in India at Serchhip Town. He kinldy solicited their cooperations of all NGOs, Pressmen and people of Serchhip for the success of the cup. He said that more than hundreds pilots from foreign countries are expected to compete in the cup and many Embassy are now staring at us because we are about to host the World Cup. They shall see and experience India at Serchhip and within Mizoram, so we shall represent India during the competition period. That is why, a well preparation and smooth operation is highly demanded and it can change the course of Mizoram Tourism Industry alot in a positive manners.

Minister also mention about the preparation undertakin from the government side and also said the need for improvement of Serchhip Tourist Lodge, Thenzawl Log Lodge/house and also pointed that even a Home Stay system can be effective for the time being subject to the availability of huoses within Serchhip. He also told the Press that, the paragliding spot shall be set up for a permanent site, and permanent landing site is also expected to be set up like a take-off site he added.
