Siaha; the 6th December,2022: Enforcement Team on Single Use Plastics(SUPs),Siaha district; raided Markets, Shops and street vendors for use and sale of SUPs, in the follow up action of the 1st raid carried out on the 7th November,2022, wherein all the vendors and shop owners were counselled of the Law against the use and sale of SUPs and informed them of the penalty thereof,if not complied with Gov't's order which was already issued way back on 1st July 2022. It was founded, barring a few, that most of the business establishments, shopkeepers and street vendors complied with the instructions of the enforcement team.

The enforcement Team imposed monetary penalty on those shopkeepers and vendors who'd failed to comply with Gov't's order and their monetary fine amounted to Rs.10100/- apart from seizing their SUPs materials weighing about 26Kgs.

List of banned SUPs items are given below:-
Plastic sticks for Ear Bud, Balloon,Flag, Candy and Ice Cream

1) Plastic Fork,Knife, spoon,Straw,Tray, wrapping/Packaging film, Polystyrene (Thermocol) for Decorations

2) Plastic Cup, Bowl, Plate, stirrer, invitation card and Cigarette packet

3) Plastic bag thickness less than 75 micron

4) Plastic/PVC Banner thickness less than 100 micron
