Lawngtlai, the 20th October, 2020: A review meeting to discuss Airtel Tower NoC (pending towers) and pending EB permissions was held today at the DC's office chamber, Lawngtlai.

The meeting was chaired by DC Lawngtlai Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika who pointed out the importance of internet service to keep up with the progressive world and the commitment of the District Administration to ensure better internet service in the District.

According to reports given by representatives from Airtel, 78 towers out of 84 proposed to be installed in Lawngtlai District have been functional, with remaining 6 towers not yet completed due to worker and infrastructure issues. There are currently 5 tower sites within Lawngtlai town which are highly congested and requiring upgradation. It was also reported that proposed erection of a new tower at Circuit House, Lawngtlai site had been delayed due to contractor issue which need to be immediately resolved. The need for uninterrupted power supply to run towers was also brought up. The meeting resolved that the immediate issues might be brought up with higher authorities and P&E Department might also be approached for power supply issues.
