A brief inaugural function of Road Safety Week-2020 was held in the office chamber of Shri.Bhupesh Chaudhary IAS,Deputy Commissioner of Siaha, here at Siaha today.
Baring this year, an inaugural function of Road safety Week was held at Bazar Traffic Point every year; with large gathering of officials,drivers,owners, general public,..etc. wherein resource person from Traffic Police, DTO Enforcement Staff, Drivers' association etc..delivered speeches on Road Safety; coupled with demonstration of First Aid manual from medical staff.
However, this year's function was conducted in a low- key affairs in compliance with GoM's policy of minimal public function ; to curb the influx and widespread of Covid-19.
In his inaugural speech;Shri.Bhupesh said that Drivers and Pedestrians must strickly follow Traffic rules for the safety of all. Pamphlets will be distributed by DTO office for the awareness of Traffic rules and also for the awareness of the
do's and don't's for drivers and pedestrians .He also encouraged Traffic police and DTO enforcement staff to punish anyone who violated traffic rules with no tolerance spirit during this Road safety week-2020.
As a token of request to the citizens of Siaha district, to take Road safety pledge . RS committee members presented at today's meeting took a RS pledge.
*Road Satety Pledge*
1.Majority of the Road accidents are caused by drunken driving, therefore i pledged to drive in sombre state.
2. Many a time accidents occured due to over speeding and rash driving, therefore i pledged to drive within permissible speed limit.
3. Traffic Rules are meant for safety of passengers and pedestrians alike. Therefore i shall strickly abide by it.
4. Handling of mobile phone while driving distracted Driver's concentration and caused accident.Therefore i pledged; not to handle mobile phone while driving.
5. Road are for drivers and pedestrians alike.Therefore i pledged; not to cause inconveniance to others while on road.
6. While walking on the road; i pledged to always keep myself alert on plying vihicles for my safety.
Today's Road Safety Week-2020; inaugural Function was well attended by district Road safety committee members; and RSW-2020 will be observed during the 16th March to 22nd March,2020.
