Aizawl, 24 October 2026: On the occasion of World Polio Day, Rotary Club of Aizawl organised an “End Polio Now – Awareness Car Rally” on 24 October 2026 to raise public awareness about polio prevention and the importance of eradicating polio.

The rally was flagged off at 10:00 AM from the Rotary Club of Aizawl Office by the Club President, Rtn. Zoe Lalrinpuii John. Around 15 Rotarians participated in the rally with their cars, travelling from Aizawl towards Reiek.

The primary objective of the car rally was to raise public awareness about the preventable nature of polio and the importance of polio vaccination in protecting the health and well-being of children and the general public. Since polio can cause permanent disability if not prevented, it is essential to ensure that every child receives polio vaccination as per the recommended schedule. Collective efforts and public participation are crucial in achieving this goal.

Rotary International has been actively working towards the global eradication of polio for many years. “End Polio Now” is Rotary’s prominent campaign slogan advocating a polio-free world.

Through this awareness car rally, Rotary Club of Aizawl hopes to increase public awareness about polio prevention and encourages everyone to join hands in supporting the global effort to eradicate polio.

“End Polio Now” — Let us join hands to eradicate polio!
