Mizoram's School Education Minister Pu Lalchhandama Ralte congratulated all the successful candidates in the HSLC Examination 2021 Results, which were announced today in the state. The Minister wholeheartedly lauded the sincere and diligent efforts of the Mizoram Board of School Education and the School Education Department, towards successfully and safely conducting the HSLC 2021 Examination in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and for bringing out the results on time .

The School Education Minister said that, as every year, the HSLC (or Matric) Results announcement was one of the most awaited and exciting events in the state; and hence, this happy moment in the face of the raging pandemic will be very welcomed and appreciated by all. Unfortunately, in many states of the country, the various Board Exams could not be held till date, and even in Mizoram there was a lot of concern and speculation on whether the HSLC Results could be tabulated and announced as per schedule. However, inspite of all the hurdles, the concerted efforts of the MBSE and the School Education Department have paid dividends and the HSLC Results have come out today; this is indeed a matter of great pride and jubilation, he added.

In his congratulatory note, the School Education Minister also gave special mention to the contributions of the State Executive Authority, LLTF/ VLTF and the Mizo public in general, for their meticulous preparation and coordination for the successful and safe conduct of the HSLC Examination 2021. While applauding the successful candidates and their parents, the Minister also motivated the candidates who did not get through, saying they should not lose heart but instead, they must be even more determined and prepare to face the Exam next year.

The HSLC Exam 2021 initially registered 18,738 candidates from 679 Schools across the state, out of which 18,012  candidates actually appeared for the Exam from 116 Centres. In the HSLC 2021 Results announced today, there were 2904 candidates with Distinction, First Division-5218, Second Division-4863, Third Division-1862 and over-all Pass percentage was 82.43% (which is 14.1% higher than last year). Also, compared to thr previous year's HSLC Results, this year there were 2053 more candidates securing Distinction, 2355 more First Divisioners and 347 more Second Divisioners. It was also noteworthy that this year, the number of Third Divisioners was less by 2232.

Over-all there were 1186 more female than male candidates who appeared for the Exam and 1201 more successful female candidates. Management wise, the Deficit School performed the best with pass percentage of 96.947% while the purely private candidates had the lowest pass percentage at 85.52%. Most of the unsuccessful candidates (numbering 2400) failed in Mathematics. Also, 175 schools had 100% pass percentage, while 7 schools had zero pass % with no successful candidate.
