13th August, 2026: 1. On 13.08.2026, Saitual PS Special Team while conducting joint operation with 34 Assam Rifles at the outskirts of Keifang recovered and seized 868 grams (73 Soap cases) of suspected heroin worth approx ₹. 1.74 Crores from one vehicle Ashok Leyland bearing Registration No.NL-06-AA- 3077. The driver and handyman of the vehicle - Monwar Singh Barbhuiya and Abdul Kayum Munna, both of Cachar, Assam were arrested and Case.No 90/2026 Dt. 13.08.2026 U/S 21(c)/25/29 ND&PS Act was registered at Saitual PS for further investigation.
2. On 10.08.2026, Saitual Police Special Team while conducting an operation at Keifang recovered and seized 292 grams (25 soap cases) of suspected heroin, valued at approximately ₹58,40,000/-, from the illegal possession of Vungngailun, resident of Henglep, Manipur who was one of the passengers of one vehicle coming from Manipur side towards Aizawl. Saitual PS Case No. 87/2026 Dt.10.08.2026 U/S 21(c) NDPS Act was registered.
3. On 09.08.2026, a joint random checking operation conducted by Ngopa Police Station and 34 Assam Rifles, COB Kawlbem, at Tuisa Road, Kawlbem Village resulted in the seizure of 18.520 kg of suspected Ganja, valued at approximately ₹9,26,000/- from the possession of Samuel Lalruatpuia, resident of Kawlbem, Saitual District. Ngopa PS Case No. 10/2026 dt 09.08.2026 u/s 20(b)(ii)(B)/25 ND&PS Act was registered.
