265/2025-2026
Lunglei, 27 September 2025: The ten-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-94), organised by 2 Mizo Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the 2nd Battalion Mizoram Armed Police (MAP) Complex, Luangmual, Lunglei, concluded with zeal, discipline and vibrant celebrations, reaffirming the NCC's mission of nurturing future leaders with character and commitment.
Commencing on 18 September 2025, the camp brought together over 200 cadets from the Junior Division (JD), Junior Wing (JW), Senior Division (SD) and Senior Wing (SW), who underwent rigorous and holistic training in drill, weapon handling, map reading, adventure activities, civic responsibilities and community service. A comprehensive series of Army and Civil Specials enriched the learning, covering topics such as military ethos, career guidance, disaster management, road safety, legal awareness and personality development. A motivational address by the DIG BSF, along with a communication-focused session by the DIPRO Lunglei, further inspired cadets with energy, patriotism and the confidence to meet future challenges.
The camp was distinguished by several highlights that reflected innovation, service and empowerment. For the first time in South Mizoram, a live drone display enthralled cadets, sparking technological curiosity and scientific interest. Equally inspiring was the Vibrant Village Programme at Lunglawn, where cadets engaged with local villagers through a spirited "Swachhata Hi Seva" rally, awareness campaigns and even a friendly volleyball match – promoting values of cleanliness, unity and national integration. The camp also resonated with the "Swachhotsav SSCD Campaign", as cadets actively participated in cleanliness drives and community awareness activities. A historic milestone was achieved when, for the first time in the history of 2 Mizo Battalion, a Girls Guard was trained and showcased – symbolising discipline, empowerment and the growing leadership of young women in the NCC.
The grand closing ceremony was both solemn and celebratory. Camp Commandant Colonel Sagar K. Mohanty congratulated cadets on their discipline, spirit and achievements. Awards were presented to the best performers in drill, sports and academics, and the camp concluded with a colourful cultural evening celebrating India's unity in diversity.
CATC-94 was more than a camp; it was a dynamic movement of service, awareness and innovation. From "Swachhata" rallies to drone displays, from motivational lectures to cultural showcases, and from discipline on parade to the historic Girls Guard, the camp embodied the true spirit of the NCC – "Unity and Discipline" – while inspiring cadets to carry forward the torch of leadership and national pride.
