A Solo Painting Exhibition by Pu Lalrammawia was inaugurated today at Aizawl Art Gallery by Pu Ramchhuana, Additional Secretary, Finance Department in the presence of Pi Lallianpuii, Director, Information & Public Relations Department; Pi K. Vanlalsangi, Deputy Director and Nodal Officer (Arts & Films) and Pu Laltanpuia, President, Mizoram Art Development Society (MADS).

Inaugurating the Exhibition, Pu Ramchhuana expressed satisfaction over the utilization of funds meant for promotion and development of films and visual arts by the Department of I &PR. He also suggested that a scheme regarding participation of artists and other creative people to invited renowned programmes and exhibitions outside the state and even abroad may be formulated by the Department and urged the nodal Department to do explore such a feasibility. Pi Lallianpuii pointed that the Department’s visual arts, films and photography development initiatives and activities were important programmes for youth development and avenues for employment generation besides providing a positive direction in the lives of the youth.

The painting exhibition features 33 works of art by the artist and will be on till Friday, the 20th March.
