Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Chairperson, UPA has laid the foundation stone for Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium at Mualpui, Aizawl today.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi said Mizo youths have great potential in various field of sports discipline and Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium when completed, would go a long way in promoting talented youths not only to national but to international level as well. She recalled that Rajiv Gandhi had a great vision for the country’s youth and it was his wishes to provide a minimum sports facilities wherever feasible, she said.

Sonia also stated that it is the UPA government’s priority to implement its manifestos at every state and central level particularly in the field of agriculture and horticulture, not less the Mizoram flagship programme NLUP. On issue relating to national integration, Sonia Gandhi said Mizoram is the shining example in this respect given that Mizoram has an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Regarding the setting up of medical and professional institute in Mizoram, Sonia Gandhi said it has all her support for its fulfilment.
