I am delighted to be with you today at the 12th Convocation of ICFAI University Mizoram.

This occasion marks a significant milestone in your academic journey.

It is a proud moment for all those who have supported you along the way.

Today, we gather to celebrate the academic achievements of our graduates, and also their resilience, determination, and hard work.

Each of you has dedicated years of effort, faced challenges, and overcome obstacles to reach this moment.

You are a testament to the spirit of perseverance and the pursuit of knowledge.

Education is the cornerstone of progress.

It empowers individuals to think critically, act ethically, and contribute meaningfully to society.

As graduates of ICFAI University, you have been equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the complexities of the world.

You stand on the threshold of new opportunities, ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead.

As you step into this new chapter, remember that with education comes responsibility.

You are now equipped not just to seek success for yourselves, but to uplift others, to lead with integrity, and to foster positive change in your communities.

The values you uphold will shape the future of our society. I urge each of you to harness the power of your education for the greater good.

Whether you choose to embark on careers in business, public service, education, or any other field, strive to make a difference.

Your unique perspectives and talents can drive innovation and address the pressing issues facing our society today.

Hon’ble Prime Minister has spoken about our aim of becoming a Viksit Bharat by the year 2047. A Viksit Bharat cannot be achieved without a Viksit Mizoram.

A pragmatic way in which we can attain development is through the saturation of various Central Government schemes.

In the midst of financial constraints and difficulties, we must remember that there are so many Central schemes which are available for the benefit of the general population.

For instance, the social security schemes of Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yoajana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana offer coverage of up to Rs. 2 lakh at very small annual contributions of Rs.432 and Rs.20 only respectively.

Another example is the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, which provides subsidy for rooftop solar power system. In fact, in this particular scheme, I am happy to share that the State is giving additional subsidy on top of the Central subsidy.

These are just few of the different Central Government schemes which, if properly availed, can help us reach our goal of becoming a developed nation.

As the educated section of the society, it is your duty to create mass awareness regarding these schemes to the common people.

As you graduate, some of you will pursue higher studies, while others will be looking for employment.

Here, I strongly encourage you to look for jobs not only within Mizoram, but also outside the state, and even beyond.

Having served more than 3 years as the Governor of Mizoram, I have noticed that the people of this State generally prefer to remain here.

While this may be comfortable for us, it is also a fact that there are endless opportunities outside.

Therefore, we must get out of our comfort zone, and look for gainful employment both within and outside Mizoram.

As we look to the future, I am filled with optimism.

The world is changing rapidly, and you are the pioneers of that change.

Embrace it, adapt to it, and lead with vision and courage.

Remember, the true measure of your success will be not just in what you achieve, but in how you uplift those around you.

I take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation to Dr. Ravi Kannan, who has been conferred with the prestigious Degree of Doctor of Science.

I sincerely applaud Dr. Ravi Kannan for the noble service that he has rendered to the community, by providing free services to the poor and unprivileged sections of the society.

I encourage him to keep up the excellent work, and I also commend the University for identifying a very deserving personality for the D.Sc.

Lastly, I express my gratitude to the faculty and staff of ICFAI University Mizoram, whose dedication and commitment have played invaluable roles in your success.

I also acknowledge the support of your families and friends, as their encouragement and sacrifices have made this day possible.

In closing, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you. Today, you are not just graduates; you are the torchbearers of hope and progress.

Go forth with confidence, and may your journey be filled with purpose and fulfilment.
