Dignitaries, invitees, dear friends.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome all of you to Mizoram. I hope that you have had a wonderful journey through the beautiful States of North East India.

I greet everyone as we celebrate 75 years of the raising of the National Cadets Corps (NCC).

NCC has played a pivotal role in shaping the youth of our Nation. It has guided the youth in fulfilling our patriotic duty in line with the motto of ‘Unity and Discipline’.

Mizoram has contributed and participated enthusiastically in the NCC. The recent initiatives of Government of India, under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji, has seen increased engagement of the youth.

This is due to the expansion of NCC, especially in the border areas. I’m sure the students of the State will benefit more with the recent addition of 2 Mizoram Battalion NCC in southern Mizoram at Lunglei.

I appreciate the contribution of our cadets to the Nation. They have upheld the integrity of our country, and have also been involved in community service and contributing to safeguard our environment.

This evening, I am especially delighted to welcome Maj Gen Gagan Deep, Additional Director General, NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region. I wish that the General and his wife will enjoy a pleasant stay at Mizoram.

On this happy occasion, I convey my sincere greetings to all the Cadets and Staff of the National Cadet Corps.

It is my desire that we pledge our commitment to the Unity of our beloved Nation, and aim to take it to ever greater heights.

 Thank you.

 Jai Hind.
