Aizawl, 18th March, 2026 : In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 350 of the Mizoram Municipalities Act, 2007 read with Rule 31 and Rule 50 of the Mizoram Municipalities (Election of Councillors) Rules,2007, the State Election Commission, Mizoram published the Schedule for General Election to the Aizawl Municipal Corporation, 2026 as follows:-
1. | Announcement of Election by State Election Commission, Mizoram | 18th March, 2026 (Wednesday) |
2. | Last Date for Filing Nominations | 25th March, 2026 (Wednesday) (Upto 3:00 PM) |
3. | Scrutiny of Nominations & Allotment of Symbol | 27th March, 2026 (Friday) (11:00 AM onwards) |
4. | Last Date for Withdrawal of Candidature | 30th March, 2026 (Monday) (Upto 3:00 PM) |
5. | Date of Poll | 21st April, 2026 (Tuesday) (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM) |
6. | Date of Re-Poll, if necessary | 23rd April, 2026 (Thursday) (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM) |
7. | Counting of Votes | 27th April, 2026 (Monday) (8:00 AM onwards) |
8. | Date by which election process shall be completed | 30th April, 2026 (Thursday) |
Model Code of Conduct is enforced immediately till completion of the election process on 30th April, 2026.
