Kolasib dated 11th May 2021: The Mizoram Government extended the Lockdown till 17th of May as a measure to contain the 2nd Wave of Covid-19 virus. Kolasib district, which has 4 entry points from its neighbouring state where Covid-19 screening points are setup and closely monitored, the Covid-19 positive cases have crossed the double digit mark, standing at 102 as of yesterday's 5:00 PM report.

The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr.K.Lalrinliana, who is also the MLA of Kolasib AC, making note of the condition of the daily labourers and families under Home Quarantine during this lockdown within Kolasib Assembly Constituency, provided aid in the form of cash to each VLTF to make sure that those who are in need do not go hungry during the lockdown. The Minister handed over Rs.10,000 each to 13 VLTFs within Kolasib Town and another 6 VLTFs in its vicinity.
