Aizawl, 21st April 2025: Today, at the Chief Minister's Conference Hall, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited handed over two JCBs to the Government of Mizoram for use in road safety and disaster management. The machines were formally handed over to Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma. Following the symbolic key handover, a brief programme was held at the Conference Hall.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude, stating, “We are thankful to receive this very useful equipment to aid in disaster management. These machines will be of great help.” He also acknowledged the various contributions of Toyota Kirloskar Motor, including their support in Aizawl traffic management, their active involvement during Chapchar Kut, and other initiatives benefiting Mizoram, saying, “We deeply appreciate their contributions.”

Mr. Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President and Country Head of the company, noted that Mizoram is often affected by natural disasters. While such events may be unavoidable, the JCBs are provided to support preparedness and mitigation efforts. He emphasized the company’s commitment to assisting the state through useful tools under its CSR initiative.

Following the handover, a Memorandum of Agreement regarding the use of the two JCBs was also presented to the Chief Minister.

Mr. Vikram Gulati was accompanied by Mr. Roshan R, General Manager, along with other company staff and representatives from their local dealership, Zote Toyota. The Chief Minister was joined by Pu Vanlaldina Fanai, Commissioner & Secretary to the Chief Minister.

The two JCBs will be managed by the Aizawl District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and the Serchhip District Disaster Management Authority. The Chairmen of these DDMAs—Er. Lalhriatpuia, Aizawl DC, and Pu Paul L. Khuma, Serchhip DC—shared brief remarks upon receiving the machines.

Pu Stephen Lalrinawma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Aizawl Traffic, and Pu C.C. Lalchhuangkima, CEO of Smart City Limited, also highlighted the ongoing development of the Integrated Control & Command Centre, which is being supported by Toyota Kirloskar through their CSR initiative for traffic management in Aizawl.
