Aizawl, the 6th November 2020 : Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Pu K. Lalrinliana last evening received three trucks carrying LPG from Manipur which reached Aizawl last evening. The trucks were a part of Government’s initiative to bring supplies from neighbouring states due to the economic blockade imposed by certain non-state actors at the inter-state border with Assam.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stressed that the Government will send more trucks to bring LPG and petroleum from Manipur and the next convoy of LPG trucks and tankers will be sent shortly again he added. He said that the series of events which unfolded has united all sections of Mizo society and the larger Zo brethren living outside the state. He expressed his gratitude to Churches, NGOs, students’ bodies in Manipur and Mizoram for their goodwill and IOCL and the Manipur Government for the help rendered in getting the supplies lifted from Sekmai Bottling Plant in Manipur.

He also mentioned that the Government under the leadership of the Chief Minister is exploring all options for bringing supplies from other neighbouring states and even from neighbouring countries. He praised the efforts of the drivers in this endeavour.

5 tankers, which were a part of the supply convoy are en-route from Manipur and are expected to reach Aizawl later today.
