Aizawl, March 19, 2025: The 'Swap & Save Campaign – Sikul Bungraw Inthleng Runpui' under the Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban and Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) was launched today by Pu K.Sapdanga, Minister, Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation Department at the UD & PA Sanitation Site Office, near Solomon's Cave, Aizawl.

The campaign aims to promote waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. Pu K. Sapdanga underscored the vital need to reduce waste and promote sustainable practices. He urged the public to actively participate in the campaign, fostering a transformative shift in social and moral attitudes towards waste management.

The campaign will run from March 19 to 21, 2025, and will be implemented in collaboration with Self Help Group Area Level Federations in Aizawl. The campaign aims to promote the reuse and recycling of school materials, such as textbooks, uniforms, and other educational resources.

Pu Jacob Lalawmpuia, Director, UD&PA, explained that the campaign is part of the government's efforts to promote sustainable waste management practices. He emphasized the importance of reducing waste and promoting reuse and recycling.

The 'Swap & Save Campaign' is an initiative to encourage the public to donate their used but still usable items, such as school materials, and to promote the reuse and recycling of these items. The campaign aims to reduce waste, promote sustainability, and support the education sector.
