30th November, 2022: Union Minister of State for Housing & Urban Affairs Pu Kaushal Kishore visited Lawngtlai and had meetings with officials and NGOs today


The Union Minister of State, accompanied by Mizoram Urban Development & Poverty Alleviation Secretary Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, IRS, was received at Lawngtlai Helipad by Deputy Commissioner Pu Amol Srivastava, IAS and other officials from District Administration and Police.

Three separate meetings with the Union Minister of State were held at Lawngtlai DC Conference Hall. The first meeting was with officials of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) headed by Deputy Chief Whip Pu H. Lalmuansanga in which the LADC officials submitted concept papers for Maxi Cab Terminal at Lawngtlai and other developmental projects. The second meeting was with NGOs like Central Young Lai Association, Lai Women Association and Lai Students' Association who highlighted their activities and submitted their various requests to the Union Minister of State.

The third meeting was with officials from State departments. In the meeting, DC Lawngtlai Pu Amol Srivastava highlighted status and progress of CSS projects being implemented in the District with a PowerPoint presentation. A short video clip prepared by the District UD&PA Department to highlight their activities and achievements was also shown. The Union Minister of State praised the departments for their achievements and urged them to work harder for further progress of the District.

The Union Minister of State departed for Aizawl by helicopter after the meetings.
